NBSC PRESIDENT PARTICIPATES IN THE 1ST PASUC EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) reaffirmed its active role in national higher education governance through the participation of NBSC President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE, in the 1st Executive Board Meeting of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) on February 19, 2026, at the Rizal Park Hotel in Manila.
Central to the discussions were policy recommendations on the Draft CHED-DBM Revised SUC Levelling Guidelines and Instruments, as well as the Draft Revised Organization and Staffing Standards for SUCs (ROSSS) Phase III. These frameworks are expected to influence institutional assessment, organizational structure, and human resource standards within the SUC system. The Board also undertook a review of PASUC’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Financial Statements and examined its FY 2026 Proposed Receipts and Expenditures, ensuring transparency and strategic stewardship of the association’s resources.
The meeting was further strengthened by the participation of House Committee on Higher and Technical Education Chairperson Rep. Jude A. Acidre, who outlined a 10-Point Higher Education Legislative Agenda presenting key reform priorities for the sector. This engagement was followed by a consultation session with Sen. Sherwin “Win” T. Gatchalian, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance, underscoring the constructive dialogue between SUC leaders and national policymakers on matters affecting public higher education.
Through its representation in high-level policy discussions, NBSC remains aligned with evolving national standards and fiscal directions. Such engagement positions the College to respond strategically to sector-wide developments, supporting institutional growth while contributing to broader efforts aimed at strengthening the public higher education landscape.
